It's TRUE, He is 1

I am sure none of you believe it because it happened two weeks ago and I am still not believing it. Foster is 1, and he knows it. We had a wonderful time celebrating, and he was thrilled with all the
new toys he was spoiled with. It seems like just yesterday I was laying in that hospital bed all day long waiting and waiting and pushing and pushing to get this little guy here. Just a few blinks and he is a toddler already, my baby is a little boy. Sad.......... but so much fun at the same time. He is all over the place, running, jumping (well trying to his feet don't actually leave the ground but he thinks they do), dancing, shooting hoops, throwing the ball, hitting the ball and he even pitches to us (he has a pretty mean fast ball). I don't know that he has a favorite food he eats just about anything, but he sure does love it when grandpa or grandma sneak him some candy. I swore I would never be one of those moms, but yep I am, I want him to like his fruits and veggies so seeing him eat a big old piece of licorice makes me cringe. Plus he does have 8 teeth now and seeing him eat it makes me have nightmares of little sugar bugs eating his teeth away:) But I let them do it anyways! He is very daring and while he has mastered the stairs without taking a tumble down them but he has fallen off the treadmill (don't worry I wasn't making him exercise he was just climbing), anyway he hit his mouth and bled all over. He didn't seem to be bothered as much as his mother was by it. He still gets to spend time with both Grandma's each week. He loves to go up and down the stairs over and over and over again. Still loves his Mama when he is sad and would much rather play with his dad. His favorite book is Panda Bear, Panda Bear what do you see? He has become much fonder of books and will actually sit on your lap for most of the book! He was petrified of the balloons I got for his birthday until he realized how much fun they could be and now two weeks later we still have one roaming around that he loves to bounce and throw. His eyes have finally changed to mostly green like his Dads and he still has a huge head and small feet. We are working on switching over to whole milk but he still gets a little cough and rash on his face. Dr thinks it is just a contact allergy he will grow out of, but I am still skeptical of an allergy. My favorite time of day with him is right when he wakes up, if I don't have work we lay in bed and he actually will snuggle for a few minutes. He is not much for words, but is really good at shaking his head no. When you ask him who number one is he holds up his finger just like in the picture above. He is finally sleeping pretty good and if we are home he sleeps til at least 8:30 or 9. He is still has public phobia and is ornery every time we are around people he doesn't know. His hair needs cut - bad- but I can't bring myself to do it.

Yep, the balloons.......................

He pulled this face the whole time we were singing to him, he was mesmerized, by our talent I guess
As much as he loves food I though he would just dig in, but he was hesitant, he wasn't sure about the frosting, and as you can see from the picture he was looking at me with this "are you sure this is ok?" look. So I helped him out and shoved some in and the rest was history.

and then he decided he liked the balloons

He finally got a basketball hoop
and Thanks to Uncle Brandt he is sporting a new 49ers Jersey with his own name on it

This picture stinks and is not focused but you can see what you need to see. He got this cute musical table from my parents and he was on top of it it no time. Using his hands to push the buttons just wasn't good enough, he wanted to use his feet.

We did a quick photo shoot a couple weeks ago with the Reese family because Chance and Treysen were in town, and for just using a timer and my camera they turned out okay.

We also had a great Thanksgiving last week, we got to eat a Turkey meal twice and they were both delicious. We have so much to be thankful for especially the wonderful families we get to be part of. We had every one there at the Godderidge Turkey Dinner except for TJ and Micall so there was about 70 of us, 4 turkeys, 1 Ham and a bunch of everything else.
We tried to snap a photo of everyone and it turned out pretty good except you can't see a few people, if Brennen would have let me be in charge I would have fixed that but you know men. So sorry April and Dennis.

Foster's 1st Hallow's Eve!!!

Did you know Halloween used to be referred to as All Hallow's Eve, and it didn't start with trick or treating. Halloween has its origins in the ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain. The ancient Gaels believed that on October 31, the boundaries between the worlds of the living and the dead overlapped and the deceased would come back to life and cause havoc such as sickness or damaged crops.
The festival would frequently involve bonfires. It is believed that the fires attracted insects to the area which attracted bats to the area. Masks and costumes were worn in an attempt to mimic the evil spirits or appease them. And somehow it is know a night for costumes and treats. It's FUN though. I am not much of a dresser upper but I love to see what everyone else comes  up with. I am also a cheapskate so I went where I always go for a costume, my mom's costume boxes. The box once again did not disappoint,  we found a dinosaur costume, tried it on Foster and it fit so a dinosaur it was. A pretty cute one I might add, just difficult to get him to pose for a pic.

Not so sure about the tail.........

Other notes on the recent weeks. Foster is 11 months now so that count down begins. I can't believe he is almost one. He did get his first ear infection and it was no fun. He was miserable, which was hard, but kind of nice because he just wanted to cuddle with mom. He also has got his left central incisor so no more funny snaggle tooth, he is also close to getting the right side in as well. He is no longer a baby, but a little boy, a toddler in fact. He is full of personality and very moody. His favorite toy is still his ball. He loves zucchini, squash, and jam sandwiches. He loves the hot dog dance on mickey mouse clubhouse and anytime he hears music of any kind (even sacrament hymns) he starts to bounce and dance. Whitli is working at Nordstrom rack and for the jazz now so she lives in salt lake, so we don't see her as much, but she sent us this cute dress shirt and Foster definitely rocked it. Thanks Whit.

I incluced this pic, because if you look closely you can see his snaggle teeth on the side.

Happy Fall

Well it's my favorite time of year and over the last few weeks we have done A LOT! Foster turned 10 months and decided it was time to really walk. He is all over the place and he is fast.

We took a 10 day trip to Cali (San Diego) and St. George at the end of September and first part of October. We had a lot of fun and just spent a lot of time at the beach. Our first days were spent traveling and then Brennen's friend Jesse got married in Vista, California at a horse farm. It was gorgeous weather and a beautiful place. We had a good time and it was nice for Brennen to see some of his long lost buddies.

From there we then headed to a hotel a block from the ocean in Solana Beach. It was a cute little beach town and we had a nice time being so close to the water. We took a trip to a few malls, the aquarium and the temple, went on a few runs, ate, slept and relaxed on the beach. We had a wonderful time and Foster loved the sand, the birds, and the washed up seaweed. He wasn't as much a fan of the cooler salt water and waves, but as long as it was just his feet getting dipped he liked it. He loved the wall of fishes at the Birch Aquarium. He was in constant awe. I wish I could bottle up some of his curiosity and save it for when he is a little bigger and it disappears.

Brennen posing for our morning run pic
 Loved the Sand..............................................
Still undecided about the actual ocean water...................................................

 My Baywatch Babe....................................................................

Whenever you ask Foster where someone or something is like the airplane or champ, if he doesn't see whatever he is looking for he holds his hand up like this as to say I don't know. Not sure where he picked up on this but it sure is cute.
These pictures aren't great but you can see the amazement in his face as he stares at the fish.

Foster's size relative to a whale.... After seeing this life-size sculpture of a whale, Brennen was now convinced that Jonah definitely could have survived inside the whale.
He has been sticking out his tongue and biting on it just like this  a lot. Soon enough it will be bitten and the tears will come.

We then  headed back to St George for the marathon/conference weekend tradition. We rigged the Ipad to the back of the seat with dental floss for Foster, and it worked wonders. I always knew being prepared with floss would come in handy at some point.

Cortni and Ted met us there on Wednesday night and it was constant fun until Sunday when sadness came because we had to go our separate ways. We hit up tons of parks, splash pads, the carousel, fiesta fun, and Staheli farms.  The marathon was a little different this year a my mom had a broken (fractured fibula) and had to watch from the sidelines for the first time in 17 years. She was not too happy about it, but it could be worse we kept telling her. My Dad did it again just a week after running a measly 100 miles in the mountains, he is pretty much living proof that anything is possible with a little hard work and faith. He cruised and his time was 3 hr 15 min. Brennen also finished and after 2 cortisone shots, 180$ pair of shoes, and lots of ice and ibuprofen his IT band injury held up. We were all expecting a lot slower time since he did not train hardly at all, but he crushed it.. 3 hrs 13 minutes, and all I have to say is MEN suck, its just not fair. I would have to train and train and train and train and still couldn't run that fast.
My pics aren't great but I though I would share a little bit of the tradition of the last 17 years and the fun we have on marathon weekend.

The kids always play on these rocks up snow canyon
There are always a few helicopters flying around, this one came right down by us and waved. The kids were mesmerized.
There are always a few people that run the whole marathon with a flag.  It's pretty amazing.
We always set up camp on the side of the road, we have seen everything from hot to cold to rain up there over the years. It was a bit nippy this year.
Bayli was in charge of pictures and she missed Brennen as he went by. She yelled and he turned around and posed.

Dad always stops and talks for a short second.
This fun contraption is there every year as well. Flying around up snow canyon.
Same with the band..... every year
I think this pic although is face is cut off shows his real feelings.

Now he saw us and is trying to hide his suffering with a thumbs up

Then every year we wait on the grass for them to come out of the runners section with popsicles and ice cream for everyone.
Brennen soaked in some cold water so he was freezing

While there is not metal around my mom's neck I believe she hit a milestone today. It was harder for her to be on the sidelines than actually run the marathon, so we are extremely proud of her for making the right choice and being a cheerleader this year.

Foster loved playing skee ball with dad at Fiesta Fun

They both got a hold of one of Hazels socks and were chomping.
Foster has never seen a golf club or held one for that matter, we took  him outside and the club was out with some balls, he picked it right up and started hitting the ball. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come as I would really like him to be a golfer and make millions.
 He loved the slide

When Tucker wasn't happy we all knew, we saw this face a few times,  it kinda breaks your heart, he knows how to get his way.

Presley is a pure ball of sunshine, so much personality and happiness in that little girl.

Grandpa and Hazel pulling twinner faces.

Whitli once again refusing a photo, beautiful hand though
Tayli modeled for us across the rocks

These two still aren't sure about each other. Hopefully they will grow up having lots of fun together

Tucker thought his stomach would be a great way to go to down the slide......
It started out fun but ended up with a lot of crown in un-wanted places

Grandma posed by this Farmall tractor for us. It was the first tractor she ever knew

 Cows.........ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

 Where did the cows go?

Presley was also always trying to cheer Foster up and was so good to him, wish she lived a little closer

We had a good time with the whole crew, we missed Chanse and Tristan and of course Grandpa but we still made lots of fun memories.
